Engine swap labour?

Hi, can someone give me an idea of labour/hrs to swap a Samurai motor with one from an escudo or similar? Not really up to it myself so would need a mechanic to sort it..thanks

I did it in a half day and I'm no mechanic and don't have all the tools. I had a chain block and know zuks enough though so dunno.

Would also depend on if the mechanic needed to pull the engine out of the vitara too.

Also depends on if a good mechanic does it or if they get their apprentice/cleaning boy to do it.

We gave suzookyman a hand last weekend to take out the 1300cc and put in the 1600cc Vitara motor in. Took about one and a half days, all that was left to do was sort out a fan for it, he was able to drive it on the trailer no issues. It was a simple conversion just as long as you can all the right bits.

its as long as a piece of string mate, allow a days labour plus or minus

engine swap is easy , only a mater of hours.
wiring/ecu/integration with factory loom , plumbing , air box mounting , fuel system setup , etc etc etc , can take alot longer if you want it done right , as it should be for a vechile that will undoutably get thrashed offroad.

as Sadam said it's as long a a piece of string , depends how fussy you are.

personally I'd never let anyone do wiring in my trucks . seen to many excellent mechanics bodge the wiring install , then hide it under tape up behind the dash

Basically I'm looking for a nice Samurai, not for serious offroad (mainly for farm use but would like it at least capable of a bit more) & was looking at a '96 with a stuffed motor, now thinking it might not be worth the trouble. Couple of others on trademe that might be a better choice.

we have a couple of suzukis on the farm im starting on tomorrow,ones parked up with barke issues, so i might check it out and give the owner an offer of $5.95...the other is a later model with muds on it...seem to be better value for money than quad bikes he reckons.. well see

as said, I did the swap last weekend. You could do it in a day with help and the conversion kit. I put power steering in as well which slowed things up a bit .Wirering of the 16v needs to be done by an autosparkyman if you don't want to take it on.
