GQ Safari - WOF Question - Headlights

Post by phraza »

Both my headlights are cracked. Not smashed, just cracked. Driving through road works and some idiot driving way too fast the other way showered me in gravel

Would that fail a WOF?

Easy question for someone :)

Cheers

If they are tiny cracks you might slip by but if they are full of condensation now they will have a closer look and then fail ya most likely.

I passed 3 wof's with cracked headlights, they were pretty bad but intact, yep they were full of mud/sand/condensation.
It was amazing when I did change them, everything was so....visible

Cheers guys,

Dont think they are leaking as there is no moisture inside. Will give it a go anyways :)

you might be able to repair the glass with the window repair stuff sold by repco and if theres condansation inside the units then drive around for a hour or so before wof time with the lights on the heat should dry the insides etc

just an idea

If you pop the boots of the backs of the bulbs they dry out in a minute or so too. WOF guy told me to do that once

Haha or if you fail. Depending on who your insured through it may be covered under your windscreen extention.

Thats whats covered with our policies (All windows and driving lights front or rear)

Fit sealed beams and then you don't have to worry about them filling with water. (if it is serious offroad truck that is)
