Progress so far, nil... getting decidedly aggravated tbh, CB arrived but is a different plug to the cabling in the truck... do I have to/will it be easier to just start from scratch with bits that I know go together?

Is there a cheap way to mount my fire extinguisher... went and bought ludicrously large one (4.5kg) but they want many dollars for a mount thing... any ideas?

Oh well, did collect new winch bar and am looking extremely forward to Pig Farm on sunday... even contemplating night run at Woodhill saturday... concerned at lack of spotlights and radio though... hmmm...

Slick! where abouts would one procure one of those clips?

I probably should also buy a welder/learn to weld/job for later lol :D could probably jimmy something up if I could get one of those collars/clips... will ponder further.

unless they have changed all the rules, the length of coax used to be proportional to the wave length of the radio so it might be best to take the time to stick the propper aerial and coax in for your paticular radio mate

as far as the extinguisher mount goes and fark thats a big extinguisher remember its a pretty big projectile that might be heading for your head in a roll over or accident so make sure its pretty secure :x

yeah, was hoping I wasn't gonna have to spend a bomb on it, got excited due to having all the fittings already there... sounds like it is not to be... should have just got a handheld lol.

as for fire extinguisher.. was hoping to secure in the tray rather than in the cab... might just have to go in exterior toolbox for the weekend...

thanks for the advice though

Drove the Lada from Kaiwaka to Auckland loaded with muds and all my tools. And the battery light was on the whole time. Went really well all things considered.

Put the alternator brushes in today, but light is still on

I'll probably just keep using it 'till it dies...

Started getting it ready for the pig farm, a bit more prep tomorrow and I'll be ready

nope, coax need not be proportial to aerial length. aerial need be tuned properly. 1/4, 5/8 1/2 wave, but i've been doing this for 15 years and never installed a coax to a tuned length... PM me for detail on your situation.

Oamaru Trial tomorrow. might be quite wet.
Dont follow me. i'll get stuck and need a tow..

Pays to have the extinguisher handy.
I have two, one in the back (bigish one) and a small one mounted by the drivers seat. So I can grab it on the way out the door.

PM me the measurements and I'll see if there is a mount around here that will hold yours.
