Re: cert???
if you've got a body lift then you'll need a cert.
Re: cert???
Technically Yes for the body lift part....(cringe)
As for the suspension, as it stands you can go up or down 50mm from factory (what ever that was) without a cert.

Re: cert???
had a mate talk to his certifier the other day about body lifts, he said he didnt need a cert..
would be good if everyone was on the same bloody page...
gives everyone a different answer,so if you ran without a cert you can get pinged, but you were told your legal..

Your mates certifier needs to check his facts with LVVTA who give him the authority to issue certs and read the information that is sent to him. it is very clear, and has been for some time, that all body lifts require a cert.

Making 50 mm body lifts with out cert legal was considered and rejected a long time ago.
Reackons the suspension lift rule will never work ?? How did he work that out when he has not seen the rule?

it is impossible that he has see the rule. The rule has not been written yet.
Farmers wont have a problem if they want a moderate lift. that will be allowed. Please check your facts.

Yes sorry Just me getting pissed off again.
Just feel we havent all had a chance to put something to the nz4wda to look at. Many farmers Ive been talking to are going to fucked , not all farmers have moderitly lifted trucks guess they dont take this into account.

go talk to them mate they pull a lot of numbers
Re: cert???
This is why I cringed.....
You only have to look at the WOF rules..
The threshold as it stands is in there....No if buts or maybes...
Wot one wof man will let you get past him / her differs.
Proof in the pudding will be when you are standing in front of the man with the white wig. Trying to explain why your vehicle conforms to the rules when it doesn't.....

I have invited people to contact me if they want to put a proposal to us. All the exec have email address on the assn web site, i am in the Ak phone book twice, a Google search will find me, and PMs from this site will reach me. Not a single person has put a proposal to me.

No need to apologise, I know where you are coming from, but it makes it worse when LVVC'ers interperet the rules differently to each other.
Oh well, I'm resigned to the fact that little can be done about it now

Not sure why my job makes a difference, but if you want to know, I am a fencing contractor. After 35 years of driving on farms I do feel that I understand the terrain that farmers have to drive, and yes I do drive a modified 4wd for work, and it is used in 4wd most days.

Re: cert???
Because most people that make or help decide laws are suits who dont see anywhere out of Auckland or Wellington.
]Sorry to be quick to judge but then with this in mine why havent you contacted federate farmers when all this started?

Re: cert???
im a dairy farmer.
i require a lifted truck to get work done on the farm.
we dont have quads because they cant go the same places as the 4x4s..
we also require a wof to be able to walk our stock on a public rd.so now we will need to certify 3 trucks, and join a club just so we can walk our stock 3 km???
sorry,but thats just a F###G joke..
sure i wouldnt mind too much for my own truck, but come on..
we wont get a cert untill we are forced to..its a huge cost to us to take our vehicles over to chch to get a check done, then drive back a couple of weeks later to get the plate put on...waste of money and time...
and how does having a cert make the truck safer???
