chassis Diferences

Post by mikey32 »

Hi im abit new to this modifying thing. I bought a rolled rn46 with a 350 chev in it thinking it would be a quick change over of cabs.(if i never heard the engine running i probably never would have bought it  ) anyway since finding a new cab i have a new problem, the chasis is to bent to be straightened. I have sourced a yn67 chasis but cant find any info on differences in the chassis can anybody help me? i know im going to have to modify anyway as the mounts on the rn46 have been moved back 30mm and the x member the gearbox sits on is different too. Any help would be much appreciated.

 not bad for your first post this section is for mike so we can let him know about web site problems

I've mounted an RN single cab onto a YN double cab chassi, (still got the chassi out back, I've just checked it) your dead right all six cab mounts have to move, from memory I cut the old mounts and the new ones off both chassi's mounted the cab on blocks of wood between the chassi and cab and then played with mounting and trimming the different cab mount outriggers till you get something that works then bolted them up to the body and welded them to the chassi

The gearbox and engine mounts your going to have to do anyway

Cheers Reece
