fj40 front disc setup help

hey

i have put a disc step on the front of my fawty, it has 60series disc's with ln65 hilux cailpers,is this the right setup .twice now i have driven round and after about 20minutes smoke and the brakes lock up with the dics's glowing.1st pic is with the brakes off.

i have also put in a new brake booster,and have checked the adjustment on the booster and stop light switch to make sure they arnt holding the brakes on

Are your caliper pistons seized? I found one of the four in one of mine seized :wink: Didnt lock mine on but can do in some cases. Also did you check for clearance between your booster pushrod an master cylinder?
Didn't barbie drive a jeep??

Sounds like your pistons in the caliper a sticking on, May need to check if there seized, also the Master cylinders on he Fawdys can cuase the brakes to stick if its faulty. When you put the discs on did you fit a proportioning valve?

not to sure if they are,both disc's where stuck on tho,i cut down the rod between the booster n master it seemed a bit tight it may need more,na i didnt, what do proportioning valve do

You may need to remove the residual pressure valve at the master cylinder.

hey,ive come across that page before i did the conversion and have removed that valve just on the front tho
