Info needed for auto conversion/gboxs

Post by KIWI_TERRANO »

I have a 03 hilux that imgoing to rebuild the 5l motor and add a ct20 turbo, 14psi of boost and a front mount with a 4m40 fuel pump to get heaps of fuel to it with a egr ,water temp, and boost gauge,

Help I need is tho, I know nothing about autos apart from put them in d and they go

The question i got is since it will hve a manual fuel pump can I run a auto? as I know they kick down when you floor it how would they do this with out a ecu?

Also my transfer hasnt got push button on it can I bolt that up to the auto?

Do you still have the old ecu connected in???

As the auto is controlled by it
There are guys who have manualised the auto using diodes and a rotary switch or similar... Particularly the lads who run the Lexus V8's...

I am planning on putting a manual pump into my truck which has an electronically controlled auto. (Shares same ecu as fuel pump 1KZTE)
As long as I retain the TPS and keep the cable for the line pressure it will still work.
Just give me error codes for the engine side of things...
Yours might be the same....

The Jeep Cherokee runs the AW4 which is the same (essentially) as the A340 variants.
Also the Toyota Crown had a separate ECU for the A340 auto....

I havent done it yet just trying to figure out how hard its going to be.
Has got electric throttle now which will be changed to cable but wasnt going to put a intake manifold with a ttp sensor on but then again the throtle cable will be running to fuel pump not the butterly throttle. Was planing on using 2.8 inlet.
So if i leave tps in it it should work? can i bolt a manual transfer case to a auto so i dont have push button 4wd

Correct, If you do this, all you need is a hook up for the brakes, which will already be there from the old loom.
