Loud Bangs/Problems with Electric/Auto Hubs (SWB L/cruiser)

Post by Spark01 »

Hi all,

Bought a L/cruiser a year ago and had a few loud bangs and a feeling as if the vehicle wanted to swerve to the left of the road at the same time of the bang. I did some checks and was satisfied that the hubs weren't 'locked'. To make things worse, I found out recently I had different size tires on the front and rear axles. Same make and model tire, just one size lower which I suspect has caused damaged to the 4wd system. I'm keen on 4wd'n just not experienced enough to know whats causing this problem and more importantly what I need to fix so I can get out without worrying if my 4wd will engage properly without issues.. Any wisdom appreciated!! :?

You already know the answer...

1. Get 4 tires all the same size, now!
2. If you dont have mechanical knowledge take the truck to a mechanic that does. I'm guessing that you have blown a CV.
