Best place for tyres in CHCH

Hey guys,

Just wondering what places you would recommend for tyres in Christchurch. I'm after 4x 32" mud tyres for a 15" rim, preferably Maxxis Bighorns.

Have a look in the phone book, there are a lot of places.

I rang around a lot and got quotes when I got my set of Bighorns recently.

I was amazed how the price differed from shop to shop, even ones that were the same franchise, the price ranged from $330 to $400 each (33").

I got mine from 4wd accessories in the end, good price and service.

Advantage Tyres at Sockburn round about. Dunno what Aaron charge you but he looks after me pretty well :wink:

I can do pretty sharp deals on Maxxis & Hankook at the moment if you wanted to PM me

Or I have a set of 33" KL71's on trademe http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =430266225 that I can do a hell deal on minus rims etc
Bought them to replace my Bighorns but found out Kumho 33's are smaller dia than Maxxis 8P

I want some M/T's too - so cool. But cant afford another Mortgage extentsion - especially when Coopers (better tyre) are becoming affordable in NZ finally

Kats do good deals, and now im a rakaia local talking to rakaia mechinac about mtz they sound awesome, im in a toss up between cooper and micky baja mtz

just had tyres done by the rakaia guys the mickey t are a great ride quieter and grip the road better ( so far ) than the maxxis I had on before..
good service as well, the mechanic spotted the lock nuts undone on the tie rods ? can't complain now I just have to get them dirty.

What size you get and how much? Guessing there the mtz?

yep 15 x 31 baja atz i looked at the mtz but for me I rep calendars from chch to timaru and the coast so many miles on road.
I saw a new tyre out the injection moulded more of a mud terrain tyre, if things work out I might get a set for the mitsi jeep ....they cost me 394 each balanced and fitted, good service from the team there as well
