surf gearbox options

Post by DVS 4x4 »

Hi I have a 91 v6 vzn130 surf with what I think has a r150f box at least thats what is on the chassis tag it has noisey bearings changes fine but noisey in neural.
Couple of questions

1. Can you buy rebuild kits if so how much?

2. will a 2l or other diesel box bolt up if you swap the bell housings i have seen the clutch forks come out on differnt sides between the two boxes and maybe the shifter position?

3. does anyone in auckland have one for sale

4. any good additives to put in box to keep it quiet

It has a holden 253 v8 conversion wont be doing any hard core off road just want a quiet box any input would be welcome

thanks

Its a R150 outta a VZN130.

The R151 cruiser/surf/hilux boxes will work but the ratios are diffenent. If you mostly drive on the road your better off having a R150 with your V8 as it has longer 1st and 2nd gears.
