So I started off with a seized rusty 12mm nut on my shift link adjuster dealy.
After about 15 minutes, some CRC, a 6-pointed socket and a breaker bar combined with quite a lot of swearing I now have a seized, rusty, stripped 12mm nut that is still on my shift link adjuster.
How to get it out? Obviously it's right up between the trans and body so I can't really get in there with some big vice grips or to weld on a bigger nut or an old socket. I could mayyyybe fit a cutoff wheel up there and cut the bugger off, but it would probably be awkward as hell.
I tried smashing an old 11mm socket onto the nut but since it's in the middle of the shift linkage it's quite springy so you can't really hit it that hard.
Any cunning ideas? Or anyone in Wellington got one of those stripped bolt remover socket sets?

at worse case senario
break a hack saw blade in half , tape up one end of the blade as a handle and cut it out.
hard work , but good in tight spots.

Done it yet? I got a pad saw handle you may borrow. Takes a hacksaw blade.
