A few of us here have intercooled the 1KZTE, search the forum

Yup, especially if combined with free flowing exhaust / dump pipe and upping the fuel and tweaking the boost...

I haven't done it personally but yes it will...however you need a new rocker cover as the intercooled units have no hump in the middle. Also the throttle body is in a different position as the throttle linkages are different and also cables.
There is this "used kit" on trademe http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-par ... 753240.htm
Bit pricey but have seen them go as low as $700....

I got a bighorn one for $20 and did all the fab work myself.
Check out this http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/Forums/ ... 18&t=21567

Before you start playing with all these mods I would install an EGT gauge to monitor exhaust temps...Cause if you get it wrong you could melt the motor....

Search is your friend as it has all been done before on this forum....

Keep us all informed of your progress and post some pics ! We all love pics...

Wouldnt a water to air be better? Well would be with the slow speed stuff  I think top mounts are a waste of time. The bonnet on late model trucks is pretty well sealed. Then you have the intercooler right at the top with a hole in the bonnet directly above it, hot air rises yadda yadda :? Wouldnt that turn an intercooler into a interheater  Well thats what makes sense in my head
