TD27 Starter Motor

got qouted 220 to rebuild one, he claims that mine was full of oil, should i fork out the money, or take the motor n try and do it myself as prescribed here.....http://beergarage.com/PathStarter.aspx

this sucks coz i really dunt have much money, and would like to get it done properly, but at low costs....

Give it a go. You'll need a real good soldering iron if you need to solder in new brushes, but if its full of oil it may just need a good clean out

if ya guna strip it do the bearings and the brushes,do it once do it properly
