Don't want to lift...

Post by RJT »

Hi all! Last year I sold the Prado and bought a '92, TD27 maunal Terrano and a daily/fishing wagon and am loving it! A truck load more grunt than the 2LTE auto and drives real nice. I've had a Terrano (VG30... YUCK!!) before with a 2" suspension lift and 30/9.5 AT's and it was alright until it cracked a head. I've decided to scratch the 4x4 itch some more until I start my trailer queen zook project by doing some light touring type 4x4ing. Plan is, Snorkel, hooks, 2.5" exhaust and some cheap 31" mud tyres on the standard rims.

My question is: Is any form of lift actually required to run 31" tyres? I'd rather not lift it at all if I can get away with it. Don't want to do any suspension mods as the ride is perfect as it is. Don't want to body lift as I really can't be bothered modifying bumper mounts etc.

Cheers, Rhys.

I've got 31's on my terrano with 50mm suspension lift. Front tyres are close to rubbing on not quite full lock, but I think they (31s) would fit without lift. Different rims (width/offset) might change it a lot tho...

I had 31's on mine with no lift, different rims though, not a big offset though.

Run mine with 31s on standard factory rims. Believe they are zero or positive off set.
