Good year all terrains??

I need some new tyres that are good allround for driving on road with a bit of canterbury rivers and beach fun
Thing is i live in oxford and commute to chch most days so somethig that will give me some decent road kms would be great.
My bro has found me a cracker deal on some good year all terrains through his work discounts usually $340 but im getting them for $260
Has anyone had these tyres are they good?
I have a ssrx hilux surf and ill be running 31s.

I used to work with a fella who has a set on a 60 series cruiser, they are 33's and he is still running them after 130000kms Bout buggered now but just scraped through the last wof. However he does buy before he needs them and they sit in a dark shed for about a year before they end up on his truck

I have them on my truck, no issues here. They are great for the rivers and beach. I bought mine second hand though.

How long they have cured for can make a huge difference to how long they last. I had a set of Hankook muds that were half worn at 15K, when I complained to the guy I bought them off the local rep came round and reckoned they hadn't cured for long enough, he gave me a new set under warranty

I have a set of Goodyear Wrangler A/T's, find very good as a roady and on my only off the hard excursion got me there and back . Only done about 20k and if I don't get over 90k will be very disappointed as I got 97k+ out of my last set of Kumho's on the old Surf. $230 is a good price, mine was slightly better than that .

Fantastic!!! sounds like a pretty good buy to me then espec with the guy with the 60 series im pretty sure they weigh more than a surf.
Would the warranty be a factory warranty or through the retailer generally??Thanks heaps for the responce!

I'd steer clear of Goodyear a/ts, the company I work for in Qld put them on some of their mine spec hiluxs, an they lasted 25k Max before they wore down to about 3mm an started to get punctures all the time
When I say mine spec, most of our fitters don't get to drive on site much so most of those 25k were done on road,
so from what Ive seen they have a pretty short life compared to the Yokohama ats on my work ute that have just ticked over 30k an show little sign of wear at all an a 3rd of my ks are done onsite which is a mix of clay sharp rock an metal roads

Totally agree. The A/Ts don't last very long & go out of round as well. We have them on our fleet vehicles. 25k & they are out of round. 30 k and they won't pass a warrant.

Have you thought about some Bridgestone Desert Duellers (not standard Dueller AT's)? I bought a set from Tonys last year for my Surf, fitted and balanced for I think $205 fitted and balanced per tyre. They get pretty good reviews worldwide and have a great tread pattern for the occasional offroad excursion. Some users claim 60 to 80 thousand kms out of them.

We took ours through the Akatarawas on our Surf and only came to a halt once on a steep hill even though we went through some pretty good mud.

We liked them so much we had them transferred to our Bounty when we sold the Surf.

have got decent mileage out of my maxxis bravo (754's) on my 90 , good on the road in the wet as well, had wrangler at/r's on my diesel zuk ... good roadholding but moderate wear ...

Do they still sell Bridgestone Desert Duelers? The last time I saw a new set was on TradeMe almost 1 year ago. Should have gotten them they were $180 each. Now I'm looking for them but no one sells it anymore. The all-terrains nowadays look more like road tyres to me. They don't do chunky treads anymore except BF Goodrich which is the most expensive as well.

GT Radial Savero A/T if they still make them worked well for me as an AT and daily driver..
I got a set used and they just went and went.....
Sold them when I up sized to 35's....for play tyres and changed the diff ratio's...

Reviving an old thread.
Just bought a pair of Goodyear Wrangler AT/SA, unfortunately before reading this thread. Couldn't complain about the price though, $220 each minus some vouchers from flybuy points (they're actually good for something!). From the reviews on other online sites they have quite a good reputation. Not much mention of wear though... We'll see how they go.
