350 Chevy small block starter

Post by Disco Gofer »

Wheres the cheapest place to get a starter for my 350 Chevy? Mine sound like a hungry bear when cranking and think it might have been exposed to a bit of water and mud some along the line...............dont know how..................properly not worth the rebuild.

Im hoping to go some hwere. i live 5 mins out of Hamilton near the airport and belong to the Te Kuiti King Count 4wd Club. Its always so far to drive to out blocl (Ngaronam) just past Bennydale. So a day trip is out. I wish i knew of a place even an hour away and even if i had to pay a nominal fee for the land use to just go a for a day and take the kids etc.
I was hoping to find some thing for this Sateurday as have a friend up on business form Dunedin and want to show him around Hamilton a bit and do some off roading too but got no idea where to go thats fairly close......bit sad really. Only go out every 3/4 weeks at the moment and thats to Ngaroma.
I only move from Aucks to Hammy 14 months ago so dont know the areas or people yet to know where to go thats close so maybe some out there can help?

Ok you should jow be posting on a new topic in trips etc

But as you didnt

Head up to thomos bout an hour drive just out of te aroha

When at the top dont go over the saddle otherwise it will be an 8grand recovery bill when (and you will) get horribly stuck

Te aroha side is a good run otherwise and you will have an enjoyable day

The only people that live 1/2 hour off a play area are called farmers

ring dean at STA parts or Nick at segedins, both top notch guys and as DJ said, get a gear drive starter, the 2kw ones are the best. they dont have the mud scooping cone like the standard starters do.

and as above, thompsons is a good day out and only an hour ish from hams.
