Ought to do an intro...

Post by boon »

I'm Logan from Welly.

Bought myself a 1992 Surf as a skifield road hack last year.
My friend promptly blew the headgasket on the 3.slow V6 driving it to Ohakune so I've spent the last couple of months slowly doing a 3.4 5VZ-FE swap.

I come from an IT background but have dabbled in 12v electronics (particularly audio) enough to manage the loom conversion and I know which end of a spanner to hold, although not always where to put said spanner.

The truck is fairly boring, it's on 31s, has a 2" suspension lift and a 2" body lift plus hooks on all 4 corners.

Next on the list is 33s if I can pass the cert brake test with them, and Lockrights in both ends. Then I'm gonna buy a few recovery odds and ends and go have some fun in it. Dunno if I'll get a winch just yet, maybe just a Tirfor and go from there.

Once the truck is all sorted, keen to get out and drive some tracks, see some cool spots, meet some of the local folk, whatever.
