SJ410 transfer mounting
SJ410 transfer mounting
Gidday. Spent today putting together the drive train in a 410 from bits I have accumulated over time but ... the transfer case seems to be about 30-40mm back from where it should be judging by the t/case mounting holes and the rear driver shaft. Are the 410 & 413 components the same? Maybe they're different and I've got a mixture ?? Any ideas? Ta

Re: SJ410 transfer mounting
From memory I think the '83 or 84' cases from 410s are the same as in the 413s. The flanges might be slightly smaller though, but its common to put a 410 box in a 413.
Does the case have a 4wd switch cable on it?

Re: SJ410 transfer mounting
Thanx. Yep it does. A rocklobster from 410 & 413 is in the plan. I think my problem arises from both donor trucks having Nissan A12 motors and g/boxes but using different engine mounts. One used the factory chasis mounts whereas the other has shifted them forward. Solutions: shorten the shaft between g/box & t/box by 30mm or shift engine and gearbox mounts forward.

Re: SJ410 transfer mounting
My sons project SJ410 has a Toyota 4k and gearbox and 410 transfer case and everything is back about 100mm so it has custom drive shafts. The gearbox to transfer drive shaft has no "shaft" at all
