I'll planning to make some changes to my vehicle that will require certification, before I begin I'd like to have a chat with a local certifier to make sure that they're happy, in principle, with my ideas.
I'v been through the process before but I'm pretty new to Wellington so don't know who is reasonable up here.
So who is the most reasonable certifier in Wellington?
Cheers
Mike

Re: Wellington certification, who to use?
Thanks, so are all the Welly certifiers pretty good then? Understanding of 4x4's not just hotrods?
Last time I had a vehicle certified one certifier told me that it wasn't possible to do what I wanted to do, just because it wasn't specifically in the manual. The other certifier used some common sense, we went over the plan and he was happy with the result as was I. Going to the right person can be quite important, maybe the Wellington guys are all a bit more sensible?
Cheers

Re: Wellington certification, who to use?
theres 2 main ones in Welly
Mark Russell (junior) @ http://www.juniorskustomrides.com/
or Ken McAdam @ http://whitepages.co.nz/w/Vehicle+Testi ... 4_BUS.html
Junior is new to certing and probably more into Rods and Street Machines etc
Ken on the other hand has been doing it a while and is a member of a 4wd club and has been into 4wd vehicles for years
The thing with both these guys especially Ken is to be nice from the start and get them on your side and you will be fine
If you go in like a dick and have the attitude that you know everything, then you will be treated accordingly.
Fakey off here tried to get his 4wd certed on 37' tyres I think and Ken was genuinely disappointed that it didn't happen
Remember that these certifiers have guidleines to adhere to so talk to them and do it right first time and you shouldn't have any issues

Awesome, Thanks.
Couldn't agree more re the approach, that's why I'd like to go and have a chat about my ideas and get them onboard from the beginning.
Cheers for the help.

I've delt with Ken McAdam, he is into 4wding himself. Great guy and really knows his stuff. Make an appointment (he is busy) mention 4wding and you should be ok.
