Calmini brace won't fit my Terrano

Post by jetskiwi »

Hi out there
I bought a Calmini idler arm brace recently, went to fit and the holes didn't line up
a. with the idler arm mount &
b. with the chassis holes (interference with the body mount)
Model is WD21 1993 TD27t
Does it look to anyone here that my I.A. is already bent?

Run a 7/16 (11mm) through each hole and assemble with some anti-seize or grease and don't worry about the paint
The average of each hole should sort it :D
Thank your lucky stars you don't have to drill the idler pivot diameter out to 9/16 (14mm) for the later model ones, like just had too :x

Cheers,
I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!

I too had trouble with the body mount part and ground the top corner off to suit as seen in this picture.

Aren't you supposed to remove the washer too, it looks about that much too high. And yes, I'd say it's a little bent too.
How much are you guys paying for these? I can make these up no worries if anyone's interested.....

Yeah, look at my picture and you will see I removed the washer, placing it under the brace. Just trim back the top L/H corner a little to clear the chassis and it will fit. Loose assemble everything until you have the three bolts through the chassis rail first.

Calmini crap. Looks good and it would be awesome if it fitted your car.
