Gen 2 Pajero reduction 3.15 gears

Post by NJV6 »

A message from OZ, Anyone who has 33's or bigger will know Pajeros low range gearing is poor, heres how to fix it... These gears have been out of stock for almost a year and the new ones were going to be 2.7 reduction instead of 3.15...

Guys, in case anyone is after 3.15 reduction gears for their Gen2.

Hardmanns have re specced the design meaning a lowering of the reduction ratio from 3.15 to 2.70 due to the small modding required for the 3.15 to fit.

They will however do a special re run of 3.15 if they can get a minimum order of 20 sets.

see here for more info

Write here if you are keen. Note, these are for 2.8 Diesel and 3.5 Petrol. Will also fit Current Tritons. I have driven a Triton with them, transforms them.

Kinda interested. Not a garage install though right? Needs some machining?
Are we talking $1000ish?

Gears themselves are likely to be about $1200 ozzy. Here is the email

The prices are the same as the 3.15 gears, the gear sets are priced at $1,268.18 AUD each.
If you purchase 5 sets in the one transaction the price will drop to $1,141.36 AUD each.
If you purchase 10 sets in the one transaction the price will drop to $1,052.59 AUD each.

If you wanted us to manufacture the 3.15 gears you would have to purchase 20 sets (can be auto and or manual), they would be priced at $976.50 AUD each.

Yes there is a piece of the selector shaft that needs modified. Here is a write up for the auto, it is easier than the manual and doable by a handiman.
