Can someone pleaseeeeeeeee tell me how to get rid of the speedcut or which wire I can put a switch on??? been looking everywhere but can't find anything
raise it up. turn key right off. start up and move on. at least, that works on mine, however it'll probably eventually 'sink' again due to internal leakage of the little solenoid valve thing that opens to lower it again.
serious? lol think ive tried that and doesn't really work for mine... need to find which wire to the ECU for the speed limit thing so I can stick a switch on it..
There is info on the net, we have done this to a mates Pajero a few years back. The pajero is long gone now though. I had a quick look and couldn't find the info, but we did find it on the net initially when we did the mod. From memory the wire you need to put the switch in is located in the right side panel. You could find which fuse it runs on and put a switch on that? Provided it doesn't run anything else?
yeh ive been so much time trying to dig around the net for info on wires and sensors and all that but just couldn't find anything... ill just have to keep looking i spose..
The control module is on the same bracket as the rear locker pump, on the LHS in front of the rear wheel well, behind the quarter panel. Bit of a bastard to get to. It'll be labelled MB629784.
One of the wires going in must be speed. Pop one wire at a time out of the harness connector until you get what you want.
Pull the dash cluster out, Its on the left hand side off the harness connector to a u shape bracket with to black wires pull one of & take it for a spin one will control the speedo the other will be the 50km sensor. Just disconnect the sensor other wise it kills the speedo put the dash back in and your away.
So sorry I saw your question the other day and didn't have the time to answer then and then forgot to get back to you. I have done this my self and know the answer is good
The answer is.
1/ Open driver's door and in the bottom of door frame remove the screws that keep the bottom piece of grey plastic kick strip trim in place. Remove the trim. 2/ There you will find some thing like 8 to 10 wires going to the front and under the dash. 3/ Find the white wire with blue painted on rings around it. This wire is the one that tells the hight adjust to drop down. Simply cut the wire fold back the ends on each end and wrap insulation tape on them to keep tidy and safe from touching body. 4/ Your job is done bar putting cover back on.
The only oddity to this cure is I found one Paj where the wires were on the left side (passenger). But the same wire applies.
Taking the dash apart is a lot more work and a little more possible dangers involved of something going wrong. My method is a whole lot easier to put back if required for some reason .
Ill double check with my Paj, in case I have put you crook some how. I was going on my gray haired memory on this. Other than wire colour all is still correct. Will post latter tonight iether way to let you know. cheers
I'm sure glad I checked for you as I have to confess I have got the colour of the wire wrong. But no more guess work I found on my vehicle drivers side I have cut the yellow wire with white stripe and with the silver paint rings around it.
Yeah I couldn't remember that many wires. There is a hell of lot of them.
But this info should put you right. My Paj is a 91 V6 manual.I don't know what yours is but I hope the info holds good for you.
"WHOOPS" Haha cut cable and nothing bugger You wanted too stop the height adjust from going down when the vehicle exceeds, if I remember about 80 kph. Just to check with you it was a yellow wire with a thin white stripe as opposed to a white wire with a thin yellow stripe. Crikey don't know what to say really. Got me buggered except Mitsi must of changed the wire colour code in your model. I see you have a 3.5 shorty. mmmm
