Maybe not, apparently you can re-body some old sportscars without one, maybe that could apply here too...

yeah at a guess I'd be suprised if it didnt and it would be a hard argument to try and convince someoone, body tag wouldnt match the chassis or if you swapped tags back around tag would match chassis but wouldnt match the body, steering would be modified... changed to rodeo collum, brakes would be modified... changed to rodeo pedal box and master cylinder & booster :D

There is a body swap that vtnz do which is what you will need to do to get all the numbers lining up saves a major hassle at wof times when i did my lowered surf conversion me and a friend swaped bodys hilux and surf and while we both got cert it wasnt an issue. the problem i think you will run into is that it will be classed as scratch built vehicle as you are swaping between 2 differing makes/models. we got away with it as hilux and surf are both classed as hiluxes what they dont know is that we had to alter the wheelbase between the vehicles. hope this helps

Yes, will need cert. (if they both bolt together easy then it'll fly through)
Make sure you can prove ownership of both donor vehicles (easiest way is to have both registered in your name). Will make far fewer headaches later on :-)

sweet, interesting comments, i could stick with a Isuzu Tfr Ute as its Isuzu, everything is interchangeable, the vin number is on the chasis and on the cert plate that i already have, itl be single cab with a double cab wellside on 37s just for good measure

cool will be interesting to see. at the end of the day the cert process costs around $600 and to me its a little price to pay for piece of mind during warrent times
