Hilux slipping in 1st gear

Post by AngusM »

have a 2.8D ln106, recently had clutch done (less than 500km ago) but it feels like it slips a bit going up steep hills and on take off in first gear, wouldnt think it was clutch as all other gears are fine, even going up hills etc.
thought it could be transmission itself.
any ideas on what the problem is?

cheers,

Angus

did you adjust the pushrod after you stuck the new clutch in?

It was done by a mechanic, no doubt I'll go back and ask if he did or not. Assumed he would have?

probably the first thing you want to check that theres a bit of freeplay in the pushrod

edit* if it was only put in 500km ago you probably want to go back to whoever put it in and let them know theres a problem
