1KZ-TE needing injectors rebuilt, where to go?

Post by Morange »

Hello all, after stuffing around for awhile trying to track down a poor idle fault and missing and smoking on my LN61 with 1kz-te conversion, Ive found that the smoking/missing starts as soon as the glow plugs turn off (after about 1min) on a cold idling engine.

Spoken to a diesel mechanic friend of mine who suspects the injectors are having poor spray patterns or pressure issues causing a incomplete burn and idle like junk

So wondering who's had there injectors rebuilt? and where? can you buy the parts and DIY? im happy with that. or the exchange rebuilt option?

Thanks!

Not really a DIY thing as most times they need new tips and a clean, then checking on test rig for correct pop off pressure and spray pattern, and if not to spec get adjusted internally with little washers / plates.
As for your part of the country... No idea.. I used a local diesel man in West Auckland. But suspect most diesel mech's should be able to do them...
I think there is a guy selling them on exchange on Trademe....
