You must be able to brake stuff regardless of tyre size!

Do you have a TJ? What sort of suspension? There is more to setting up a truck properly than just putting bigger tyres.

With standard axles on XJ, yes you are likely to start breaking things with the extra weight and forces of 35 inch tyres. My concern would be around why do you want to go through all the trouble to just gain an inch of extra clearance over 33s. As you are using it with current setup, do you often get stuck in places? In those instances, could a better line have resulted in a different outcome.

35s might look cool but are they necessary on XJs, probably not in my view.

i have a 4,5" RC X on my XJ , i run 33" fine, i cut the fender quite a bit  , i need to change my gearing ( I'm on 3.55 auto box) i lost a bit of power.
The only down side is the fuel bill now , i get 350/380 km per tank driving, off road well this is another story , be lucky to get 280/300 ......

Its all about the ground cleance under the diffs. You will fine with 33's as the Jeep will have as much if not more clearance under the diff heads with 33's than a Patrol on 35's.

i think RC is shit i had a RC lift it is very poorly made i change kits so much more well made the kit i got now. with what i done to my jeep is put a coby extractors and bigger pipe and chipped it out and done the throttle body and the dizzy that puts out 50.000volts and bigger sparkys i went from wellington to Auckland one tank. i have put bushwhacker flares on the truck so tires don't rub.

thanks man that's what i need to no i might stick with 33 for now and see how it goes il try Thompsons track and see how that goes first maybe i might put my jeep up to 7 inch because i can do that with out spending any money on other thing im think of making my truck long arm is it a good or bad idea would it stand up to jumping and hitting logs and stuff the same

iron rock offroad is the kit i got and i also sell the kits and the kit comes with a right hand drive track bar. the best kit to have is the 5.5 inch lift for 33s
http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merchant ... y_Code=PFX . the 4.5 inch lift is not high enough for 33s as even with the guards cut out you still get rubbing
