Semi-floating diff head into full floating axle - help?

Post by Muddboots »

I've got a 74 Landcruiser with a semi-floating rear axle and am looking at putting a full floating rear axle in with a Lock Rite locker.

So what I would like to know is: can I put a semi-floating diff head, (from the current one) with a Lock Rite installed, into a full floating rear axle? I'm trying to keep the price down.

I would also consider a front or rear factory cable locker but I can't seem to find one at a good price. So if anyone knows of one, let me know.

Yes you can put the open semi floater head and locker into a fully floating housing. Have you thought a about an E-Locker from the rear of an 80series? there not badly priced.
Toyota Landcruiser FJ40, front and rear lockers, 35" simex.
Toyota FJ45 build in progress.
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.
