Ah Mike
We all know the truth to your 6 years is that you hardly ever drive your Surf, and F-all offroad, hence why it hasn't worn out!
I have done shit loads with mine (front end but always driving) and use REDLINE Shockproof oil. Available from BNT. Tis thinner and therefore less drag, yet has a wider viscosity range and is fully synthetic.

X2, just normal diff oil, mine works great, can't even hear it on-road.

All the comments on the US forums are to use 90w 140 to improve manners and reduce clunking and banging :D

Super cheap have it, Nulon brand.

i used the normal spec lsd oil, only because i had some. no need for thicker oil unless your giving the diff a really hard time.
