Longer speedo cable when fitting dual transfers

Post by Petemcc »

Have the duals in the hilux now and one thing on the list is to sort out the speedo cable which is now a bit short. What do people normally do here?

Cheers,
Pete

Trailgear have an extension

Speedometer Extension Cable
Dual Adapter
When installing a dual adapter, the position of the speedo output moves back about 6.5" from stock. We recommend using a speedo extension when connecting mechanical speedometer cables to a dual adapter.

Speedometer Extension Cable, 100063-1-KIT

$37.00
US$

Pretty sure Parrots (Speedo repairers) in Shaketown will make you a cable of any length.
May be dearer than Tim's solution, but worth finding out.

Ive got a 86 fwd corolla that has a two piece cable joins up behind the intake plenum you could prob get the first half of the cable from somewhere for sweet fa and use it if it will work.

Was told to stay away from joining them as it can cause issues with them breaking at the connection between the two. Parrots can make whole new ones for around $100 ish i was told by them.
