so my 60 series failed the WOF today because its 50mm over the cert plat height. it has a spring over. also failed on the 35" tiers as they aren't mentioned just the 10x15 wheels. the last WOF i took it to at the same place said the spring were flat and it had to be raise so i got the front spring reset 55mm higher then they were (and not the shackles sit at the right angel).
what do i have to do to get the tyers and the extra 50mm put on the cert plat?
how much will it cost?
iv had the truck 4 years and it has passed every WOF just as it is now.
im a bit hard up now and think it may be time to sell her if this is going to cost to much.

shit a brick, here we go, everyone grab the popcorn.....
I say find another wof man with some common sense.
Others though definately wont agree.
My guy doesnt give a rats arse as long as he considers it safe.
One bloke i used to use (when i had a certed truck) asked me why he would need to see a cert, (when i showed him where it was) as he considered himself capable of deciding what was safe and what wasnt based on 30 years of wheelin.
As far as Im concerned, the wof man is responsible for saying a truck is safe, full stop. If theyre not comfortable saying so when presented with a modified vehicle then sobeit. Likewise, if they know what theyre doing then screw the lvvta crap tax and let them do their job.
Let the flaming begin!

Re: re cert for WOF
I agree with XJ on this one,
If you raised it 55mm to please them and they're now saying its 50mm too high then it was at the correct hight to start with.
I would send them the bill for the springs and threaten to take them to the MTA or whoever looks after them. As for the tyres they are never listed on cert plates. has it always had 35"s or have you gone up in size recently?

To the best of my knowledge, tyres aren't usually listed on the cert plate. (certainly haven't on any of mine)
The suspension height is however listed - measured from the centre of the hub to the bottom edge of the guard. Tyre height is included in that and an allowance of a difference of +/- 5%
By the sounds of it you needed to reset your springs to keep it in a safe operating condition and in doing so the height has increased slightly.
Personally, if there is a valid cert plate I'd pass it.

I had the same problem. Went somewhere else. Who would raise a truck, put 15x10's on it and then keep 31" tyres.....
You can't get it on the cert plate but if you nab a copy of your cert papers you can get it put in the computer system. if it was certed by one of the dudes in Auckland though good ####### luck getting in touch

it had 37s on for a bit and passed at VTNZ. the next time they failed it with 35s so took it some where else and passed so took it to them this time and fail on 35s. thinking i may borrow a set of standard wheels from a friend and put them on and take it back.

What Taz said.. it'll be on the papers that went with cert plate.. get a copy then tell them to jamb it and put the fking woff on.. just making things difficult I think.. Too bloody PC..ffs.. you got a cert plate.. measure the +/- of the height and if it's within the limitys tell them to Jamb it..lol

Do that and load it full of bricks to bring the height down. That should make it way safer/him happy

that's odd as i fitted got aftermarket arch flares a year ago and there lower then standard ones. may be i should just bolt them 50 mm lower.

Re: re cert for WOF
right just has a look and it said on the plate 690mm F 700 R and from the center of the front hub to the bottom of the arch is 700mm. think im going to sort the other small bits and argue the toss.

If thats on the cert plate and you are within +/- 5% then you are in the right.. no arguement..
