Simon got a bargin saving him over 1k if he was going to get it custom built for his 80.
Pitty my first build instructions weren't followed.
So it was sold for as much as the market was going to pay on the day.
Can't say I'm happy. But I'm happy Simon is happy..

dude, i dont know the ins and outs of the requests for the build, but we (im not the only one) really arent impressed with the little barbed, snide comments about the build in this or the other thread.
id be suggesting if youve an issue with tom and the build, take it up with him in private, the little shots aimed at him arent doing you any favours.

Personally. Tom is a top bloke. I have a lot of time for him. I'll see him again and maybe work with him again. I haven't been on a trip with him yet or got on the piss with him, but I'd look forward too it.
But in business? One thing I'll do next time. Is watch the build closely or closer than I did with the first bar build. It's not like he lives down the road from me. You're a GC Tom.

One thing they never do though is say how awesome something is and how happy they are one minute then slam it the next....

Maybe he has screwed you over (again, you've only left everyone guess as to what has happened though), but something like this can be very damaging to a small business so I hope it's justified.

Its all too common nowadays for people to publicly flame something/one without discussion with the person their beef is with. I recently had a trailer made to my spec's, but I hadn't given detail on the tail door. turns out I don't like it, that's my problem as I didn't give a proper plan. They offered to fix it for free, I said I'd pay, we met half way. But i'd never blame them for that..

Cant speak for anyone else, but I see what i have perceived (and yes, perceptions are just that and are subject to being grossly incorrect, however, given the evidence previously linked to earlier awesome and praiseful comments about the work done, something seems a little smelly ) as a snide, passive aggressive attack on someone in a manner that seems to me to be completely unrequired (as whatever issue there had been was apparently resolved). As such, I felt bound to say something. The whole "oh but no dont cause a drama" works really well for the divisive types who use that exact mentality as a means of hiding. Ie: "I'll have a little dig here and no-one will have the balls to say anything as they're all to scared to be seen as stirring the pot"

I'm happy for the moderators to censure anything Ive said here, but I can't see anywhere that Ive launched any personal attack. Have a little look through and see where the first profanity was fired from.

While I'm at it, if this really was about telling folk to be more careful when commisioning a project, it would have been headed "Beware a cautionary tale blah blah whinge" and posted under a section more relevant to that particular tale of woe, and then gone into the process undertaken and where that process fell short of achieving a desirable result, hence making it an informative narrative which may be of benefit to others. But no.......

i agree on most of the things you have posted that has been relevant, i dont think this is the place to air everyones dirty laundry, and you certainly are a muppet if you get something custom made, change your mind about it then expect to get something cheaper.

if your not happy about something say it straight away not after the fact of the matter, and certainly dont go bad mouthing people that do a bloody great job specially when hes tacking money out of his pocket to right was was wrong.

personally, i think of Tom even better now, that even after all this hes still willing to make a bullbar at any discount.

but as i said, just stop with the personal unnecessary attacks people. not anyone in particular, everyone.
