Replacing Auto hubs with manual hubs

Post by Linden »

Hey guys

Just wondering if there is any tricks when changing over to manual hubs on my Suzuki escudo 89 from my auto ones. Iv managed to pick up some second hand manual hubs with the same spline count and was just wondering if u need to clean them out with something special ? or just some petrol and pack with any kind of grease or just normal ??

cheers

What you do comes down to the condition of the hubs, if they are turning smoothly and no obvious problems then I would just fit them. If you want to service them before putting them on you can have a look at this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsBPl2cQlC4

For grease I would use a 'washout resistant' grease, the type they use on trailer wheel bearings and such.
