80 series tips

Post by a80crewza »

Hi, just got myself an 80 series cruiser and it has tripple lockers. I am wondering how the 4wd system works. I know the truck is full time 4wd, but does that mean that I can just drive straight from the road to the mud or do I have to lock the centre diff, or push another button somewhere...?

Cheers.

You can but you'll only have to get one wheel stuck to stop the cruiser.
Your cruiser has 3 open diffs in normal road going mode.....center, front, and rear.
Real simply......in any open diff the power travels to the wheel of least resistance, if you have front open, center open , and rear open......only takes 1 wheel to get stuck.
Center diff locked puts power 50/50 front and rear, now you need a front wheel stuck and a rear wheel stuck before the cruiser stops.
Put in center, front and rear lockers and you have to get all four wheels stuck

Button center of dash with the dot in the centre diff , this locks center diff, or put into low range, this also lock center diff.
