Recommendation for Tyres - Grand Vitara

Post by joannam »

Currently our 5 door 07 Vitara has Bridgestone Dueler 687 on it. As we use this offroad about 15% of the time we are after a more off road/on road tyre. Something that will last, and good on fuel economy too.
I am considering the Dueler 697 which I can get for $219 fitted.
Our tyre size is 225/70R16.
If anyone else has a recommendation that would be great!
Thank you

Keep the tyre size the same if you want the economy to remain close to original. The A/T pattern of the 697 will provide more grip off road whilst still maintaining good on road qualities.

Another option is an M/T style tyre with more aggressive tread but it will be nosier, use more gas and wear out faster.

As churchill said, try to keep the tyre size the same for the road, the Dueler 697 is a good tyre and i also like the goodyear AT3 on the road... both tyres are good in the sand also.

I run MT on the road and my truck rides like a pig, if i did things over i would have got AT's in the current size (30/9.5/R15) for road and sand, and just got spare set of wheels and tyres for the MUD
