Winch Question

Post by dutchy »

alright. done a little bit of searching but not finding much.

My winch isn't winding out, only wining in. (one button works and other doesnt) had a look at the cable remote, could have had something wrong with wiring as there were 2 wires unattached so i reattached where i thought was correct and this is the new problem. there is however 3 wires and 4 points with no spare wire or a locking screw in the 4th port.

Winch remote says thomas winch and very hard to see the winch itself due to front bar

will take photos if you tell me what it needs to have in it. here is a few to get started

This is a typical setup...

Your remote if it has 3 wires.. One will be power...The other two are in and out...
Use a multi meter to check which is the power wire...

If the switch is fine a solenoid may have failed...

picture doesnt seem to work for me.

Thanks for the info. will give it a go now. could i manually bridge each post to the power to see if it is the switch? or would that be a mistake?

sorry for the ignorance.
