How do I fit a 1991 D21 Nissan Terrano alloy bash plate?

I have a 1991 D21 V6 manual Nissan Terrano and have just purchased some alloy skid / bash plates from another D21 Terrano.

I have a problem in that they do not appear to fit without some work being required (not a problem) and some additional bits and pieces, however I do not have an exact idea of how they are supposed to fit so was wondering if anyone out there has fitted similar, or has instructions etc to do so.
