hey guys after blowing my good run about Sj 413 up I new I had to get a 2nd one to have for just off road and well I got hold of this little beast powered by a Toyota 2tgeu EFI DOHC 1.6 engine. its got loads of dents and a fair bit of rust but wat the hell I love It. after sorting the wiring out I got it running today and seems to run bloody well for spending the last two or so years next to the sea under a tree all running gears oils looked clean but replaced all anyway..... slowy just chipping away at getting up and ready for some west coast fun will keep ya posted on it
2tgue's (injected) go like bluetop 4age's - rather well. Just weigh a bit more, is this the one that was on TM from over on the coast? Is it a cable or hyd clutch? Looks like a sweet offroader. I see your looking to recon your g13, have you tried hunting down a swift eng and swapping the sump etc may be a bit cheaper than 1.5g's + for the recon
Yeah Motors running great now but the alternators stuffed iv tryed new brushes and still no good and having a bloody hard time finding another one so might even have to look at finding one off something else and just MAKING it fit. Yep this was the one on TM I wanted it for just the engine but after seeing it I thought it would be a shame to let the rest go to waste so here it is just need to find me a bonnet and hook the snorkel up make a fuel tank and off we go ill up load some more photos as I move along this is my first time mucking about with this kinda stuff so it may take some time lol
If you are gonna find another alternator theres a few upgrade options from other vehicles. Have a search and theres a swap from gm or mazda. Can't remember but the output is much improved.
Hey guys so I had the truck out yesterday for a little trip up big river just to see how it would it go and well engines still giving a little trouble but new plug leads and plugs might help I'm going to get a auto sparky to try rewire it for me. also I had the left hand side transfer case rubber mount come apart on me nothing abit of number 8 wire didn't fix to get me home but what I wana know is is there anyway to beef it up abit? just looking at it it doesn't look to be very strong design cheers

the problem with that rocky road one is it picks up on the transfer where the sj413 transfer drum brake goes, and if you decide to put samurai discs on your rear you will want one of those. Id suggest beefing everything up at once, ben t makes a real nice transfer case arm set - http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-par ... 652921.htm
His stuff is top notch quality and design and makes life easy. As for the mounts get ahold of LRS (land rover spares) and use series engine mounts, they fit with a small amount of trimming and are as strong as an ox.
ok that message shat the preverbial bed. what it was meant to say was -

Strong dollar at the mo so wouldn't be heaps more than the one above. Way more protection and uses a different rubber mounting setup so should last well.
Personally I would get something with a full wrap around ring as I manged to bust a transfer with BenT's arms, not saying they're no good but if you're a rough c##t like me it needs to be bulletproof.
