Post by Suza »

Now before someone asks I have done a search and have come up empty.

Will a Y60 PTO winch bolt onto a Y61 4.2Deseil manual?

If the GU gearbox has the blanking plate on the LHS for the output, then yes.

To be honest more curious about the mounting of the actual winch etc with the air bags and impact zones due to it not going into an approved winch bar.
Got access to a spear gear box that we can swap in for the PTO take off and a Y61 has been offered

The winch and shafts etc are located inboard of the LHS chassis rail, so if you use an airbag compatible winch bar and then modify it to fit the PTO winch drum, it will physically fit fine. How it will alter the performance of the bar in the event of an impact though, is an unknown.

If the spare gearbox is from a GQ, then the trans tunnel on the GU will require some alterations to fit it, as the top of the GQ box has a different shape to the GU.

Great tanks thanks for that, that answers my question as I can't see the benefit in moding a trans tunnel just for that
