Toyota Cruiser parts f/s plus pintle hook and tyres

Post by Mongoose »

Selling off a few cruiser bits:

Fibreglass rad grill - square ended one:

Schwitzer turbo on modded 3B manifold:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =669302884

Pintle Hook:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =669303831

Also got a set of 4 7.00x16 old style mud tyres, good for a low-budget river bed hack. They're in fairly good condition, good tread on 2, reasonable on the other 2. Sitting on a set of the old style 2 piece 'cruiser rims. Looking for $50, pickup out between Lincoln/Rollie or from Riccarton area during business hours.

Any questions ask here or PM me.
Cheers.

Could be interested in turbo but I see it doesn't have a wastegate, how does that work?

I would imagine it uses an external waste gate.

Or none at all.... just goes full boost....depending on throttle...

I'm really not sure I'm afraid, from having a read around it's not always the case that a wastegate is used in lower power applications but I'm certainly no turbo expert. I bought this a while back to stick on my 60 series and it's just suffered a bit of a sudden meeting with a VW Polo who pulled out of a side road without looking, with the value of it I'm suspecting it'll be written off.

Hopefully someone else can clarify the wastegate issue.
Cheers.

industrial diesels don't normally run a wastegate as the turbos they run are specifically mated to the engines capacity and power requirements,
boost pressure is governed typically by fuel delivery and the injector pumps max rpm settings along with govenors.
dramatic drops in throttle opening like letting off the pedal every 30secs may typically cause an over boost situation in a mismatched combination that may have ill effects.
but typically the boost pressures these engines can handle are fairly high and throttle variation is somewhat lesser.
problems are only a problem if you not willing to learn how to find solutions

Doors any good? Looking for some to cut down.

Is the bonnet okay?

That's if you have some to dispose of

Hey Heath, I'm not intending to break the 60. Once things are settled with the insurance, it is definitely being written off, depending on the salvage value they quote me I may buy the wreck back but due to circumstances where I'm living it would need to go complete, I can't pull it to bits here.

Slidenyo, thanks for the extra info re the wastegate.

Man that is not an easy turbo to find info on! Do you know what it came off originally?

Hey Taz, no idea mate, I picked it up a while ago as it is. Guy had it on a 3B in a BJ40 that he was breaking. I'll have a look too, I did find info at the time I bought it and I think it was using the SK603 code but I'm not having much luck now. If we're struggling to find info I'm willing to drop the price a bit to reduce the risk for whoever buys it.
