Geraldine Lioness Clubs Annual 4WD Safari

Post by OVERSZ »

The annual safari will be held on Sunday 26th November. The trip will take in the Phantom River and Upper Orari Gorge up behind Fairlie.
Start time is 9am at Monument Corner. That’s the corner of Clayton Road and Trentham Road (Turn right at the MT Michael Cafe on the Geraldine to Fairlie Road)
Cost is just $35.00 per vehicle. Raffles and spot prizes with a BBQ available at Lake Opuha to finish the day off.
Bring your own lunch and picnic with us surrounded by magnificent mountains.
Some small river crossings. Not Suitable for 4WD cars or low clearance vehicles.
For more information talk to Glenda Hamilton on 03 6938217 or ask on this Forum.

Last year the funds went towards building a very nice gas BBQ in the Geraldine Domain. Its available for anyone to use and it certainly gets lots of use. This year there are a number of worthy community projects needing funding.

Starting point is about 3 hours from Chch and very nice accommodation is available at a number of Geraldine Motels. Andora Motel offers a double for just $85.00 a night. (ph 03 6938217) There is also the Motor Camp with cabins and camping.

The Safari is supported by the South Canterbury 4WD Club

The Safari looks to be a beauty. The weather is shaping up well. The rivers are dropping. It will be a great day out.

Meeting time is between 8 and 9am This Sunday the 26th November at Monument Corner on the Clayton Road.

Look forward to seeing lots of you there
Cheers
