Upcoming ORE Trip near Feilding.....

Post by Jerry »

Jdeburgh has kindly offered to organise an ORE forest and sand trip near feilding, we can make this an ORE Assn Trip if insurance is needed, for those not in the Assn a visitor fee to cover your insurance may apply.

[John needs a couple of weeks to fix the Rangerover so we may be looking at 4 weeks away?]

Can we pls get an idea of interested people?....will be a 2hr ish drive from Welly, perhaps make it a go to the pub or something and get a meal there and go back the next day

* may require a late/overnight pass from 'er indoors'

Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions etc?

It would be a good idea to invite the other local 4wd clubs to this trip so they can meet us, and we can meet them etc......

I'd be in. We have friends in Fielding so we'd probably just pitch a tent on their lawn to save costs. And yes, I think I'd be struggling to get away with not taking the entire family after yesterday. Everyone enjoyed it too much.

In fact, our friends have a big section with a small paddock out the back, so we could probably arrange to set up a campsite there if anyone else is interested.

That sounds cool........If thats the case perhaps we make a eg $10 -$20 contribution per vehicle and give this to your friends for the priveledge of staying there (with your whale it works out at $2.86 per passenger  ...assuming all 7 seats are filled!!)

Possible dates? 16th & 17th are good as there is the interclub competition 9th/10th, what about the 23rd/24th? or 6th/7th of Jan

Thoughts?

Yep way ahead of you there...Moriarty (in Wangavegas) is closer (and is the central rep), I have already suggested he contact Jedeburgh and see what assistance he wants in setting this up.

I was only making suggestions on the dates that don't conflict with the welly clubs....

Yep! Hang on a minute there! Where I have in mind is a bit limited for numbers. So leave it with me before we go too far in regards to inviting other clubs etc. IF there are too many people it takes too long to get through (speaking from experience). But watch this spot..

Will let you know later on, I have a sneaking suspicion its gonna clash with our Desert Road trip. Once again, so many trips, so few weekends

If you need me, here I am!!

dunno how I can help though, I am also committed to the desert road safari. 9 and 10 Dec.
but dont let THAT stop yuh, any excuse to take the truck out.

we have a neat area on South Beach where we play too. lots of scrub and sand dunes to get hung up on.

South Beach is down Airport road at Wangavegas, statrs at the Wangnui river moth and extends down to the Whangaehu moth. keep of that last bit of tussock country, DOC is a bit weird anbout that bit!!!

I'll sort something out for this trip over the weekend, probably aim for a couple of weeks time or maybe the weekend after your Terawhiti trip.

Let me know who is keen and we can sort out numbers etc.

John

its either i go to terawhiti or i go to your trip john..... a) i cant afford to go to both (espescially if i break something) and b) i dont want to hassle my full liscensced driver passengers too much lol, and it looks like i might be having to organise the terawhiti trip now (which is fun) so it looks like i may have to give yours a miss  but if i win the loto and find a someone to come with my il be there   8)
