Old crumpy hilux

Post by olielux »

Hi

Been stalking the site for a while now and finally joined
Bit about myself, Im from southland and have had my old hilux for about a year now and have been slowly doing it up myself

Its a 1982 single cab that was pretty rough when I got it but iv got it back to a respectable state now

mods so far
full cab and rear chassis respray
2lt motor dropped in after the old motor threw a tantrum
front lifted with new leaves
steel snorkel
lots more

mods to do next
upgrade shocks
upgrade rear leafs (maybe coons or just lifted springs)
turbo upgrade to a Td04 with 2.5 inch dumpipe
Make bumper replacement bars
33s
maybe replace dash with newer model
and lots more

be really keen to get some input and ill put up photos as soon as I work out how to

Welcome aboard, what part of southland are you in? Im in Invercargill Ive just finished a 3rz swap into a 85 beam axle surf http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/Forums/ ... 18&t=36062
As for photos I setup a photobucket.com account, In the library theres different link options for each pic I just copy and paste the IMG link to the my post. seems to work.

Thanks Stu

Nice. I used to have an 82. They are a cool shape.

When you copy and paste the link from photobucket it already has the "img" part. So you don't need to add it again. Literally just copy the link from photobucket, paste it here. done.

Arron.

Quite interested in upgrading to a double cab but would really need to get an idea of what this is worth

Specs are

1982 hilux
400000+ ks on body less than 100000 on motor
diesel 2lt motor with td04 turbo
lifted springs in front
been resprayed
steel snorkel
etc

only a four speed but can out do most of my mates 4wds

cheers Oliver
