1KZ Oil Leak

Post by Henry »

Hi

Looking for some advice.
I have a oil leak from the bottom pulley inside the cam belt cover.

I assume there is a oil seal behind there?

How hard is that pulley to get off?

Thanks henry

If its the bottom one under the cover it should be the gear that drives the cam belt which is on the common shaft which drives the fuel pump..
Its a little tight for room but doable...
Also would be a good idea to replace the belt...
Do a search about manual fuel pumps and 1kz's and you will get some photo's of that area and also discussion re pulling it down.

Went to Toyota this morning and got a new cam belt, tensioner and pulley. Got a new seal as well. that bottom cam belt pulley comes off with just the 4 10mm bolts.
Then a trip back to toyota to get the right seal. All fixed after 3 hours or so.
