I need new wheel berrings in the front (91 surf). How hard are they to do? Can anyone in chch get me a good price? I am reasonably mechanicly minded but have jst never really done a wheel berring before.

very easy to do, go into your local parts place and ask for a wheelbearing kit to do your vehicle, should have all the bits you need to do it in the kit, bearings,lock washers etc(i think) and go from there, gets a bit messy but theres not much to it, pop your disc calliper off,pull your outer hub off(manual or auto)pop the C clip off,pull rest of outer hub off ,bend lock tab over to undo outer lock nut,then take lock tab out,remove inner nut(which is where you adjust your bearing) then the whole hub comes off,get the bearings out,punch the bearing cups out, then clean all parts, grease your new bearings(pack them) and reverse process,hub on with bearings,put bearing cups in first with a punch being carefull,put grease in the hub,put bearings in, and reasemble other bits,backing washer,first nut up tight enough to JUST take out the play in the hub(about D sharp when tapping it 
) put locking washer in and then top nut to hold in place, bend a tab over to lock inner nut, then do up the outer nut tight,bend lock tab over a flat to lock outer nut,check play in wheel bearing, put outer hub back together........ done..... i think ive forgotten something...... cant remember......

You should be able to drive the bearing race out from behind and gently tap the new one in.
You can use the old race over the new race to tap it in that you ensure you can't mark the new race.
The large nut is 54mm, you can either use a punch/screw driver and hammer to turn it or you can get a 54mm socket. I got mine off trademe, makes it a bit easier.

some cars have issues with needing the hubs pressed apart to do the bearings on them, your lux doesn have that issue, just remember how you take it all appart and put it back that same way.
