1994 kzn130 rear diff

Am wondering if a mid to late 80s 4x4 hilux rear diff will fit my surf a mate has on with a mechanical locker in it jst need to cheak if right ratio

Diff heads are interchangeable, the diff housing won't be.

only thing to watch is there is two main diffs. the weaker 2 spider often found in the 4 cyl petrol models and the stronger 4 spider found in the v6/turbo diesel models.

Sweet thanx guys should be the stronger one i would imagine as it was in a 2jz powered hilux how do i tell the difference?

on the outside i have no idea.
pull it out and have a look ;)
if its got a arb or similar locker i think the main difference is bearing size.
if its auto locker you can tell its for a two pinion or four.

From the outside the stronger diff head the V6 or Turbo has more ribs than the older 4 cyl
