What's the Axle code on the build plate. (firewall)

Your diff code on the build plate will tell you what you have.
CA46 is common for utes That is c200 rear and r180 front 4.6 ratio
CA48 is the same diffs but 4.8 ratio
Some import navaras that are turbo autos have HG46 or HG43 which is H223 rear and r180 front in 4.6 or 4.3 ratio
All 2wd utes I have seen are c200 rear but ratio could be a lucky dip as my NZ new one doesn't have anything for diff on the body tag, I have never looked at the tag on a jap import one.

90% chance yours is c200 (removable hat style)
If you can find a same ratio c200 (lots of 2wd also have h190 diff-not compatible for you) from a 2wd the innards will swap over. I don't know if whole axle housing is the same (spring mounts width, brake sizes etc).

How save is it to run with no drive to rear and be in 4wd or should i say fwd for the next few days to get me to work

Really depends whats wrong. If the gears bound up and locked rear axle form turning it could get interesting pretty quick!
Otherwise if you drive carefully it'll be sweet (without knowing how far/where you're driving etc)

Theres nothng left on crown gar and input gear in diff ive drained and cleaned it up and refilled diff with oil so it wont bind wotk is 16 k away city speeds if any one in chch has idea where i can get a whole diff assembly let me know
