80 Trans in a 60?

Post by Shrapa »

*Yip I have tried searching*

Has any one had any experience fitting a Land cruiser 80 series automatic transmission into an HJ61 Land cruiser?

As far as I know the 80's use solenoids where as the 60 uses hydraulic?

The reason i ask this is the previous owner of my truck (I've had it for 6 weeks) left water in the trans after the radiator leaked into the trans cooler.

The transmission will be getting pulled out tomorrow to find out total amount of damage done.

Hi, a lot of the earlier 80 series Autos were hydraulic valve bodies.
My understanding is all the A440F's are and some of the A442F's are.
Mine is a 1991 and says it has a A442F has a hydraulic valve body and the filter is actually a A440 one.
Cheers
Tim
