Manual KZJ78 Engine check light and glow plug light

Hi all,

I have a problem with my prado, when I apply half throttle and above, My engine check light and glow plug light come on. I can also hear the glow plug timer and relay operate at the same time which is less than ideal as it means the plugs are operating when it happens.

I have opened up the ecu and checked the caps - none leaking
Also have tried adjusting TPS but to no avail.
I am thinking that it might be something to do with the amount of air to the engine in relation to the speed, but am probably way off haha.

Also noticed glow plug light stays on before I start it and only goes away once its running
