Sway bar

So I realise this probably been talked about heaps before. But what are the pros and cons of removing my away bar on my 80 series cruiser?

From what I've heard.

More axle / swing arm (if ifs) articulation offroad but you pay the price on road with increased body roll sometimes undrivable depending on vehicle.

If your coils and shocks are in good condition then you will not notice much of a change at all.
BUT....
If the coils are saggy and shocks stuffed you will get huge body roll that will flip your vehicle off the road.
That said a well maintained vehicle benefits lots with the sway bar removed off road.

Like Mudlva say's - I haven't been running sway bars on my 80 for a long time, 6 inch lift.... BUT have heavy duty coils and EFS extreme shocks - said shocks are fairly pricey, but worth every cent - very little body roll and the flex offroad is impressive.

if the vehicle is fitted with them at factory i believe you are ment to cert it if you remove them, but that would come down to the wof person knowing if they had them or not

A quick disconnect kit for the 80 series allowing (reportedly) 15% more offroad flex and an easy to reconnect for on road. But as Jay and Mudlva say if your suspension is top notch you won't need the bars at all.

If you are going down that route then something like superflex arms would give you more articulation over your standard setup as well.

Talked to the local certifier the other day about this. Sway bars are not required for cert.

Not required for cert, but are required for wof (if fitted as OE). And also could void your insurance by removing
