I had another very quite weekend on the 4WD front again, did back it down the drive a couple of times.

I am saving all my 4WD energy for this weekends CHCH Xmas BBQ gathering.

Did go to the CHCH Santa Parade today with half of the rest of Christchurch, thought it was missing an ORE display!!!!

Fitted up a marlin crawler at suprasurf's place (cheers Mike :P ), went home and stuck the resulting 2 transfer cases in the lux, started on the crossover steering and front end lift, going about 3--4 inches higher

went out on the northern BBQ had a ball
got to try alot of stuff i have never done in the wagen before and this may sound cocky but what a machine
got to love the factory lockers at both ends
i was impressed with the engine braking i crawled down some of the banks in low first without putting my foot on the throttle and didn´t have to touch the brakes which impressed me considering it is an auto
did qute well with the gutless engine it has in it think i have been convinced to fix up the turbocharged engine and do a swap

i need to get my tow hooks sorted now!!!

all in all one very memorable day

had a club run and working bee on a farm in onewhero, one bush truck got rolled in a simple recovery, pulled a surf off the down hill side of a track how he got there don't know, i buried the winch in a hole, and got stuck in a creek bed for a while they couldn't pull me forwards out nor backwards out , didn't want me to winch with a ground anchor, just drive back and forward till i moved enough silt to drive out

removed the carbs, intake manifold and cleaned all the shit out of them from the loburn trial. reasembled and fiddled with the throttle to get full throttle for the bbq this weekend. Fired her back into life and thought maybe its a tad loud without a helmet on protecting the old ears

After this weekend I'll put the carbs on and build a proper exhaust with custom headers.

Make sure that if you're running twin pipes, to have a balancer between the 2 pipes, or to have an X system to get the best sound, power, torque, and fuel consumption (no you cant have my LPG kit) out of the engine.
